More About Kelvin
He began his legal career as a judicial law clerk for the Honorable Judge Ramona Emanuel of the First Judicial District Court in Shreveport. Soon after, he joined the Caddo Parish District Attorney’s Office as an Assistant District Attorney, where he prosecuted serious felony and misdemeanor cases, including homicide, sexual assault, armed robbery, burglary, and DWI offenses.
After more than five years as a prosecutor, Kelvin founded The Rodgers Law Firm in 2016 to expand access to strong legal representation for underserved communities. In 2020, he was admitted to the Texas State Bar and broadened his practice into Texas. As a defense attorney, he has secured favorable outcomes in high-stakes cases, including a not guilty verdict in a homicide trial involving video surveillance evidence. His work is defined by careful preparation, courtroom confidence, and a commitment to client advocacy.
Outside the courtroom, Kelvin is a husband and father of two daughters. He is active in his church and mentors young adults in his community. He also established the Brenda Lynn Williams Morris and Clara Mae Watson Scholarships to support graduating high school seniors pursuing higher education.
