Gary L. Medlin

Before building his defense practice, Gary served as an Assistant District Attorney in Tarrant County, prosecuting criminal cases for nearly a decade. That experience continues to shape how evidence is evaluated, how prosecutorial strategies are anticipated, and how cases are prepared for negotiation or trial. He has owned and led The Medlin Law Firm since 1993, maintaining a consistent mission of providing clear guidance, steady communication, and defense strategies grounded in the facts.

Gary is admitted to practice in Texas and in several federal courts, including the United States Supreme Court, the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, and the United States District Court for the Northern District of Texas. His professional service includes leadership roles such as President of the Tarrant County Criminal Defense Lawyers Association and Chair of the District Seven Grievance Committee of the State Bar of Texas.

His work also includes professional education and thought leadership in DWI defense. Gary is a contributor to Inside the Minds (Aspatore Books) and has spoken on DWI-related topics, including breath-test issues and trial strategy.
