Kelvin started his legal career as a judicial law clerk for Judge Ramona Emanuel in Shreveport, Louisiana. From there, he became an Assistant District Attorney in Caddo Parish, where he spent more than five years prosecuting serious felony cases, including murder, armed robbery, and DWI offenses. That means he has handled DWI cases from the prosecution side and understands how the State selects which evidence to present, how officers are prepared for testimony, and where cases are most vulnerable to challenge.
After leaving the prosecutor’s office, Kelvin founded his own criminal defense practice in 2016 and expanded into Texas in 2020. That transition from prosecution to defense, and from one state’s courts to another, gives him a broad view of how DWI cases are investigated, charged, and tried. At Dallas DWI Lawyers, he applies that background to reviewing traffic stop procedures, testing evidence, and officer conduct in every case he handles.
